Ruger New Vaquero Short Spur – Was first designed by 17-Time World Fast Draw Champion & CFDA Director, Cal Eilrich a.k.a. Quick Cal in cooperation with Ruger in 2008 to make the Ruger New Vaquero a more period correct profile with a Colt 1873 SAA. This edition of the New Vaquero features a hammer very similar to the original “old” Vaquero hammer. When using a thumb-draw technique, this shorter hammer spur configuration makes the hammer easier to slip over while establishing a quick grip after cocking the pistol and is ideal for smaller hands. Quick Cal, also a member of the SASS – Hall of Fame is a champion SASS Shooter and finds this configuration much more suitable for SASS Free-Style shooters. This Talo Limited Edition features diamond grips designed by noted SASS Champion, T-Bone Dooley.
